Robert Taylor Hosch, age 89, passed away peacefully at AngelsGrace Hospice with his family by his side on April 17, 2022. Robert was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and grew up in Delafield. Bob graduated from Carroll College with a BS degree in Business Administration; he then was employed by then Hardware Mutual (Sentry) in their Milwaukee office as a management trainee. In 1959, Bob decided to open his own independent insurance agency in the Delafield area, where he operated in several locations until 1996 when he merged with a larger agency in Waukesha. In 2000, Bob retired from the agency business, although he still holds a valid insurance agents license. Over the years, Bob was active within his community, having held positions on the Cushing Board of Education, Kettle Moraine Board of Education, Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital Board, Town & Country YMCA Board, City of Delafield Board of Zoning Appeals, Plan Commission and Volunteer Fire Department. He served as a corporate member of the Memorial Hospital of Oconomowoc on its quality care committee and was a member of the preliminary review committee for the office of lawyer regulation. Bob joined the Oconomowoc Rotary Club in 1967, serving as its president in 1975-1976. In 1978, the Oconomowoc Club sponsored a new club in Hartland where Bob served as the charter president. In Rotary, he has served as youth exchange chair, World Community Service chair, and twice as a Governor’s Group Representative. In 2000-2001, he was District Governor in District 6270. In 2004 and 2007, he was the District 6270 Representative to the Council on Legislation of Rotary International and the secretary for the district. He has attended a number of international conventions and zone meetings. In January 2003, the RI board recognized Bob with its “Service above Self” award. At the 2007 district conference, Bob was recognized with an “outstanding service award.” He has served on the Central States Rotary Youth Exchange Program, Inc, for over 30 years in a number of capacities including as its Chair and as the responsible officer. Bob has two children, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-granddaughters; his wife Kathleen as 4 children, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-granddaughters, and 2 great-grandsons. The Hosch’s reside in the village of Dousman in the Pines subdivision.
