Robert W. Tetzlaff, age 87, of Oconomowoc, WI, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 30, 2017. He was born on April 27, 1930, one of sixteen children who grew up on the family farm in Hartland. Bob served in the Army as a cook at Ft. Leonardwood, MO. He married Anita Gennerman on April 15, 1951. Bob worked at the Oconomowoc Sentry as a meat cutter for 30 years. Throughout his adult life, Bob used his knowledge of meat and food preperation to help others make a great meal. Bob organized and cooked numerous meals for the members and friends of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. After retirement, Bob patiently cared for others, especially many residents of Shorehaven. Bob lived a Christian life, not just by what he said, but by his actions. He was a gentle, loving, quick to forgive, and a real people person. He provided a happy and caring home for his children. Bob loved working in his garden, he enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in his yard, and he made delicious meals for his family with a dessert baked by his bride, Anita. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Anita, and his children Dale ( Vicki) Tetzlaff, Renee (Tim) Lauer, Chris (James) Weaver, Marcia (Wes) Bray, and Kim (Rodney) Felder. Bob is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Brooke Tetzlaff (Frank Meyer) Travis (Jenny) Lauer, Carie Lauer (Todd Faherty) Kyle and Hana Weaver, Angie (Bob) Alexander, Jenny (Tom) Wirsbinsky, Bridgett (Dan) Chartier, Brad (Abigail) Tetzlaff, and Aliza and Lydia Felder. Bob has 10 great-grandchildren. Bob is survived by his sister, Harriet (Vic) Gennerman, sisters and brothers-in-law, Morris (Donie) Gennerman, Lorna (Dick) Haase, and Ken Gennerman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services for Bob will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (210 E Pleasant St, Oconomowoc) on Friday, August 4 at 5:30 pm. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm. A private family burial will take place the following day.
