Roger L. Whitcomb

Roger Lowell Whitcomb, 88, of Oconomowoc, WI passed away peacefully April 4, 2022 with his loving wife Nancy by his side. Roger was born in Lockport, NY on December 6, 1933 to parents William (Tuck) and Thelma Whitcomb. Growing up in this western New York town, Roger and his two brothers William and Gordon spent much of their childhood together participating in the many programs at the local YMCA, alongside their father. Roger attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the ROTC program and the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He graduated from the Wharton School in 1955 and married the love of his life, Nancy Dix on August 27, 1955. Their first date was a Sadie Hawkins dance in Lockport when they were just 13 years old. Following their wedding, Roger was stationed at Fort Benning, GA where he and Nancy lived during his two years of service in the United States Army. After his military service, Roger was employed by the Reynolds Aluminum Company where he enjoyed a successful 37-year career. Throughout his career, the family lived in Connecticut, New Jersey, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Roger loved his career in sales as it fit well with his warm and outgoing personality and wonderful sense of humor. Following his retirement in 1993, he and Nancy enjoyed 17 delightful years along Lake Keowee situated outside Clemson, SC prior to relocating back to Oconomowoc in 2011 to be closer to family. Roger enjoyed a full life, developing and maintaining close friendships in the many places he and his family lived. He loved to travel and enjoyed racquet ball, golf and family card games. Above all else, he cherished his time with his family and those special occasions that brought them all together. Roger is survived by his wife Nancy (Dix), his brother Gordon, four children; Scott Whitcomb (Mary Vanden Wymelenberg), Kim Whitcomb Schuster (Tom Schuster), Holly Whitcomb Davis and Christopher Whitcomb (Jill Denny) and his son-in-law David Davis. He will be forever in the hearts of his 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
