Roy A. Holle, 1937 – 2019. Roy died peacefully in his sleep at home on March 31. Roy grew up on Upper Nemahbin Lake, the 3rd of 4 sons born to Stafford and Lucille Holle. After graduating from Oconomowoc High School, Roy served four years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Roy earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of New Mexico and his master’s degree from San Jose State. Roy taught school in Pardeeville, Wisconsin for a year and then became a guidance counselor for the Racine public school district. Roy left education to became a civilian employee of the U.S. Military and audited military bases all over the country and in Europe. This career took Roy around the world and he lived in New York, Germany, Oregon, and Florida. An avid runner and photographer in his younger years, Roy made the most of these travels. Upon retirement, Roy moved back Oconomowoc, where he reconnected with lifelong friends and was known for his daily trip into town for his morning coffee. Friends will remember Roy’s enduring sense of humor and his good company. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Jenny Holle, and brothers Stafford and Stuart. Roy is survived by his brother Lee of Marco Island, Florida, six nieces and nephews, and several grand nieces and nephews, who will remember his thoughtfulness and generosity. Roy requested no funeral service or visitation. His cremated remains will be interred at La Belle Cemetery.
