Our hearts are heavy to share the passing of my beloved Royal, formally Royal Southwick Ripley Clough. He passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023, in his sleep, at the age of 56. Roy was born on November 1, 1966, in Big Rapids Michigan, to the late Robert Clough and Sarah Reynolds Clough.
Royal fell in love and married his “Angel” as he would always call her, Patricia Ann Glatzel Clough on February 14, 1997, and together they raised three adored children, Christian Royal Southwick Clough, Mason (Marya Lynne Taylor) Clough, and Garrett Robert Ripley Clough.
In his life, Royal joined the Army National Guard and loved providing his services. Royal S Clough achieved Army Staff Sergeant E-6 status in the Battery A 1st Battalion 126th field artillery unit. He also accomplished a non-commissioned officer status (N.C.O.) concluding service between 1991-2000.
Royal always had a heart for landscaping, this passion fulfilled a long career and won numerous awards for his creative plans and ideas. This led Roy to build his own landscaping business, ROYAL LANDSCAPING LLC. His hard work and creativity made him a natural.
Later in life, he decided to go to school for Automated Systems Technology and was employed until he retired.
Roy was a loving and caring father and husband, a loyal friend, and a fun-loving man to be around. He would always find a way to make you laugh. Always.
HE LAUGHED WITH MANY AND WAS LOVED BY ALL.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was always fond of; cooking, golfing, hunting, boating, fishing, the University of Michigan, John Deere Tractors, and a good cigar. His favorite retreat was always going up to Minocqua with the Glatzel family, and especially returning to the farm in Big Rapids to visit one of his best friends.
Royal leaves behind his sister Katie Mackay, her husband Tim Mackay, and nephew Patrick Mackay. His children, beloved nieces, nephews, and his puppies Annie and Akeelah whom never left his side. Including his countless friends, way too many to name.
The Clough family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Royal's life at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane in Oconomowoc, on Friday, April 21st, 2023. Remembrances will be held at 11:00 am and services will commence at 1:00 pm. A celebration of life will follow the service at Pagenkopf. All are welcome.
