Russel Louis Hlavenka

Russel Louis Hlavenka passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024 at the age of 73. He was born on February 11, 1950, in Milwaukee, WI, to Anthony and Gertrude Hlavenka.

Russel proudly served his country as a Radarman in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972. During his service, he served on both the USS Epperson and the USS England, including a deployment in Vietnam.

With an inventive spirit and a deep fascination for chemistry and mechanical design, Russel’s work as an engineer left an indelible mark on various projects and industries.

Russel is survived by his daughters Lisa Marie and Sarah Ann Hlavenka; grandchildren Kaitlyn Ann, Oliver Russel and Dexter Daniel Gaeu; siblings Christopher (Christine) and Sue Hlavenka; former wife Mary Frances Hlavenka; along with many other family and friends.

Russel is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Jeanne and Howard Hlavenka.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Russel’s name are welcome.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 11:30am-1:00pm with a service to follow. Military honors will be accorded after the service.
