REUTEMAN, RUTH M. (nee Ashauer) 7/31/23 – 3/27/16 Age 92, passed peacefully into eternal life on Easter Sunday. Beloved wife of the late John G. Reuteman. Survived by 10 of her 11 children Cindi Vetter, Terry (Bill) Johnston, Janet (Larry) Wengel, Pat (Marge) Reuteman, Bill (Jeanne) Reuteman, Mary (Larry deceased) Feaman, Maggie Reuteman, Jeff Reuteman, Jean (John) Wolak, Sally (Brad) Winquist. Further survived by 43 grandchildren and 41 greatgrandchildren, with more on the way. Preceded in death by parents Frank and Marjorie (nee Wright) Ashauer, her sister Jean (Harvey) Neis, son John G. (Barney) Reuteman Jr. and grandson John G. Reuteman III. Ruth grew up in West Allis and graduated from Holy Angels Academy. She attended Carroll College before enlisting in the United States Naval Reserve as a Wave. After the war she and the love of her life, John, eloped on June 8, 1946 and enjoyed 69 years of love and laughter. John and Ruth were longtime residents of Elm Grove where they raised their 11 children. A devoted member of Opus Dei, Ruth’s faith in God, love and family carried her through good times and bad. Full of wonderful ideas, she was always coming up with new inventions. An enthusiastic adventurer, there was never a dull moment with Grandma Ruth! She provided wonderful lifetime memories for all who knew and loved her. Heartfelt thanks to her incredible caretaker for the last nine months, Božena Balžov. Visitation will be on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church Pewaukee, Wisconsin. A private burial for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Women’s Center of Opus Dei, Petawa Residence 1331 Astor Street Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53202 “You have to have the bad days to appreciate the good days.”
