Scott Anthony McMillan of Hartland Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly at the age 44 on May 19, 2022. Scott grew up in Troy, Michigan and graduated from Troy High School. Scott was a Certified Arborist, Small Business owner and an alumnus of Waukesha County Technical College. Scott was always up for an adventure and loved to live life to its fullest. His time on earth was not long enough, yet he managed to sail tall ships on the Great Lakes, go camping with his children, wilderness hike (trailed by a cougar once), Rockhounding, a prodigious reader, and he taught himself to play the piano. He amazed everyone by relearning that skill after he lost his right hand and forearm in an accident at age 27. One of his proudest achievements was when he became a Certified Arborist. He never let his prosthetic slow him down, continuing to climb and trim trees, and starting his own tree trimming company. No tree was too tall for Scott! Scott is survived by his father, Don McMillan of Novi, MI; his mother, Susan Steffens and step-father, Richard Steffens of Oconomowoc, WI; his beloved children, Delilah and Gabriel of Waukesha, WI; his siblings, Dan McMillan (Eve) of Brighton, MI; Michael McMillan (Lauren) of Troy, MI; Carmen Hernandez (Jay) of Wyandotte, MI; Jamie Aubain of St. Thomas, USVI; Melissa Steffens of Hartland, WI; Erik Steffens of Waterford, MI. He was the proud uncle of 15 nieces and nephews. Scott was a loving son, father, grandson, brother, and friend. He was always there to assist and help others. He will be missed and remembered by the many souls he has touched. There will be two Memorial Services for Scott McMillan. One in Michigan and one in Wisconsin to provide his friends and family in both states to pay their respects and share memories.
