Steven Gary Lyles, age 50 of Oconomowoc, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with his Savior on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kari, daughters whom he adored, Megan and Julia, mother Kathleen (the late Gerald) Lyles of Merton, sister Jennifer (Toby VanSistine) Lyles of Merton, brother Brad (Monay) Lyles of Dousman, in-laws Ron and Leanne Theis of Pewaukee and brother-in-law Chris (Kristin) Theis of Hartland. Loving uncle to Vienna, Parker, Aubrey, Quinn, Mason and William. He is further remembered by many other relatives and friends. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed doing projects (especially making birdhouses) in his yard. He loved to travel with his family and was always up for an adventure. For the last 20+ years, he could be found refereeing on local basketball courts. He was a highly involved parent who loved supporting his girls in their activities from dance, cross country, soccer and track meets. He worked for Journal Communications for 24 years and most recently was Vice President of Sales for Liturgical Publications, Inc. in New Berlin. He was a fan of all sports and enjoyed lazy afternoons on the boat with family and friends. His genuine character, quick wit and inclusiveness of everyone made for a wonderful leader and friend. His big smile and generous heart will be missed by all. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 with a visitation for family and friends starting at 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM all to take place at Crosspoint Community Church (W380 N6931 N Lake Rd Oconomowoc, WI 53066). Memorials in Steve’s honor are suggested to the family for the girls’ future education.
