Susan Lynn Gain, age 70, passed away at home on December 27, 2024. Susan was born in the town of Clawson, MI on October 25, 1954 to Dale and Shirley Gain.
Susan grew up in Highland Park, MI and moved to Brookfield, WI. She went to Brookfield East High School and went on to graduate from UW Milwaukee with honors. Susan went into sales and thrived as a director. She worked for many years at Konica Business Products and held all those employees close to her heart. She was proud to be a member of J.G.F, notably establishing the “Tie Up Party,” a fundraiser for the MAAC Fund.
She and her husband, Gary, enjoyed scuba diving and traveled the world to do so. The biggest adventures after marrying were trips to Israel, Ireland, the Caribbean, Scotland and Wales. In her later years, Susan found solace in gardening and embraced peaceful walks with her sister, Cid. Susan embraced the beauty of everyday moments. She could often be found enjoying a glass of wine, savoring life’s simple pleasures, and finding warmth by the fireplace with Gary, creating spaces of love and laughter wherever she went.
Animals held a special place in her heart; her love for horses, cats, and birds was evident, as they enriched her life and brought her endless joy. She loved working with Draft horses at Hoof Beats with her dear friends Kris and Mary Jane and loved the joy they brought to people.
She was an active participant in Bible studies at Kettle Moraine Presbyterian Church and Lisbon Presbyterian Church, where her insights and enthusiasm left a lasting impact on many. Her love for the scripture was so fond that she proudly displayed her devotion through her personalized license plate, 'Roman 12,' a testament to her belief in the power of God and love.
Family meant the world to Susan, and she treasured the time spent on Okauchee Lake, creating countless memories during
summers filled with laughter and warmth. The Fourth of July was a particular favorite for Susan, celebrated with family and friends, often culminating in the beloved tradition of fish frys. Known for her infectious positivity and her ability to be the light that never dimmed, Susan’s legacy will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
Susan is survived by her loving husband Gary Flom; son Matthew J. Flom (dear friend Sarah); mother-in-law Beverly Ann Flom; siblings Cheryl (Brian) Fairbrother and Cindy Gain; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law John M. Flom; cousin Jeff Chandler, aunts Kim Bastile and Maureen Saunders.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kettle Moraine Presbyterian Church, Wounded Warriors or Lisbon Presbyterian Church in Susan’s name are welcome.
