Teresa Anne Ihde

Ihde, Teresa Anne – Mum left us and joined her husband, Gary Ihde, in heaven on January 20, 2022, at the age of 75. Born Teresa Anne Whyte to James and Winifred Whyte in Buckhaven, Fife, Scotland on October 16, 1946, Mum grew up living life with her own rules. At a young age, Mum moved from home to London, where she worked near a US military base. During this time, she met Gary, and soon after was married. After having their first child, they soon moved back to the United States where they settled in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Milwaukee. Soon after, they had two more children, made many friends and built a fabulous life together. Mum enjoyed all things Disney related, spending time up north at the camper in the fresh air, bowling with her friends and involvement in her career associations – WALP and GMALP. Mum worked as a paralegal for many Milwaukee area law firms over the years. She had a loyal group of friends throughout her career and loved to share stories of her times at conferences. Towards the end of Mum’s time with us, she relished spending time with her grandbabies. She spoiled them rotten on their birthdays and at Christmas-time. She enjoyed what all good grandmas do – feeding them sugar and sweets and watching them discover new things. She is survived by her children – Karen Jones (Scott), Sean (Lori Ihde) and Kevin (Cortney Ihde), her four grandchildren – Emerson, Hudson, Ashlyn and Ethan, as well as many distant relatives in the United Kingdom. Our family would like to thank the staff at Hartland Terrace for their tenacity, love and care of Mum for the past 2.5 years. Mum gave them her spunky personality at all times and for their compassion and dedication, we will always be grateful. Memorials can be sent to CurePSP. Her closing words were the following: “Be true to yourself. Do what pleases you, not what is expected of you. Treat people the way you would like to be treated. Pay it forward.” Great advice from a wise and loving lady whom we will all miss very much. A gathering to celebrate Teresa's life will take place on February 4, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00p.m. at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (1165 E. Summit Avenue, Oconomowoc, WI 53066).
