Thomas Emil Brooks

Thomas Emil Brooks, age 89, passed away on December 25, 2022 at Shorehaven Health Center in Oconomowoc. He was born on January 31, 1933 to Emil and Irene (Weiss) Brooks in Wauwatosa.

Tom is survived by his wife, Corinne of 70 years; his children, Deborah (Joe) Colgan, Scott Brooks, Jeff Brooks and Sandra (Jeff) Leverenz; his grandchildren, Corinne (Tim) Taylor, Margaret (Andy) McKenzie Palen, Emilie (Jim) Canales, Brooke (Luke) Venne and Keith Leverenz; his numerous great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews; his cherished brother-in-law, Everett Kelley; and lifelong friends, Dave and Vivian Kwarciany. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Andrea Bunk and Melita Brooks; and Ethel Bierstaker, a loving companion of Emil.

Tom served in the U.S. Army. He worked as Postmaster in Butler, for the U.S. Postal Service. Tom volunteered for the Butler Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved living on the water.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will begin with Military Honors promptly at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (new location) 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane in Oconomowoc, sharing of remembrances will follow. A light lunch will follow in the banquet room.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Tom’s name to Wounded Warriors.
