Thomas G. Clark, age 78 of Hartland, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2018, surrounded by his family. Tom is survived by his loving wife Mary Kay of 53 years; his daughters Laura (John) Sullivan and Carolyn (David) Houghton; his grandchildren Patrick and Maggie Sullivan; Harrison, Henry, Hudson and Hannah Houghton; and his brother Michael (Mary Ann) and nephew Jay Clark. Tom is preceded in death by his parents Owen and Mary Clark. Tom was born in Toledo, Ohio. At the age of 10, the Clark family relocated to the Dominican Republic for 6 years where his father worked on a civil engineering project. During this time, he attended a British boarding school before returning to the United States to settle in Lake Forest, Illinois. Tom graduated from Lake Forest High School and went on to graduate from Beloit College with a degree in Economics. Following college, Tom worked for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation before becoming a founding partner of the Thompson-Clark-Gerritsen Company in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Upon retirement, Tom turned his love of boating into a thriving yacht delivery business. Tom and Mary Kay spent many years as Captain and First Mate delivering boats for numerous clients, always taking family and friends along on their adventures. Tom was a mentor to many young boaters. He served on the Board of Director’s for the Milwaukee Yacht Club and was the Commodore of Trestle Cove Yacht Club in Boca Grande, Florida. Tom fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s. The family wishes to thank the staff at Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI for the loving care they gave him in his final days. He will be deeply missed by his family and many dear friends. Private family services are being held. A memorial service and celebration of Tom’s life will take place in Door County, Wisconsin this summer.
