Thomas John Ostrowski, a beloved father, husband, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, at the age of 87. Tom was born in Milwaukee, WI to Felix and Sally (nee Frymark) on June 27, 1937.
Tom proudly served in the US Air Force Reserve for eight years and went on to further his education, earning an Associate's Degree in engineering from Marquette University. For over 35 years, he dedicated his career to industrial engineering at AO Smith, contributing his expertise, passion and leadership.
In 1958, Thomas met the love of his life, Romana, at a movie theater, beginning a love story that would span over six decades. He was a true outdoorsman, finding solace in nature, frequently seeking adventure at his cabin in Tomahawk, shared with his brother Carl. Tom had a deep love for fishing, biking, and cross-country skiing, always eager to take on new challenges in the great outdoors. A man of great wit and a loving heart, Tom was known for his sarcastic dry sense of humor that never failed to bring a smile to those around him. He led with kindness and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on all those who knew him.
Tom’s true joy came from the time spent with his family. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he cherished each moment spent with them. He also treasured his role as a grandfather, creating memories that will be forever treasured.
Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Romana; children Katherine (Larry) Wolff, Alison (Andrew) Neuman; grandchildren Connor and Evan; son-in-law Bill Hoffmann; along with other family and friends.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Elizabeth Hoffmann; siblings Nancy (Bill) Ellis and Carl.
Tom was lovingly cared for by the compassionate staff at Three Pillars and Allay Hospice, to whom we extend our heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering support and care.
In honor of his memory, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude and the American Lung Association.
A visitation to celebrate Tom’s life will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 2:30PM-4:00PM with a service to follow, presided by Fr. Allan Weinert.
