Thomas Joseph Hilgers, 78, went to his heavenly home on October 3, 2023. Tom was born on August 21, 1945 to Henry and Josephine Hilgers in Racine, Wisconsin.
Educated at Cardinal Stritch College, Tom obtained a Master's Degree in Science, reflecting his pursuit of knowledge and his passion for continuous learning. A proud Air Force veteran, Tom proudly served his country with honor and distinction. A man of great integrity, Tom dedicated his life to his family and his career in the healthcare industry. His tireless efforts and exceptional leadership skills contributed to the opening of numerous hospitals, including the esteemed Froedtert Hospital in 1980.
Beyond his successful professional achievements, Tom was a devoted family man. His true joy in life came from his role as a loving husband to his devoted wife, Susan, and a doting father to his children, whom he gave his love and soul to. He was a beacon of guidance, teaching his children and grandchildren valuable life lessons and the importance of embracing a strong faith and sharing his love of Christ with everyone.
An outdoorsman through and through, Tom found solace and excitement in fishing and hunting. We will forever remember him as a fun loving, outgoing, kind, selfless true gentleman. Tom's unwavering optimism and genuine concern for others touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
