Thomas Lee Maxwell

Thomas Lee Maxwell, age 83, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday December 3rd, 2024. Tom was born in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, on November 19th, 1941 to Ambrose & Edna (nee Drew).

Tom grew up in Milwaukee with his 5 siblings attending St. Patrick's Elementary School on the south side & then West Allis Central High. He was drafted in 1962 & spent four years in the military. Tom moved out to Okauchee in the early 1970’s where he spent his time on Okauchee Lake becoming an avid waterskier & building his home where he passed. Many of his working years were spent at Acme Transfer in Milwaukee until he opened his own Limousine Business, Maxwell’s Limo, around 1992.

Tom (aka Max) loved living life to the very fullest. He had friends, or made them quickly, wherever he went. He had a vibrant personality that many were drawn to as he was always smiling and making a smart, sometimes inappropriate, comment or joke wherever he went. He was truly one of a kind, an Okauchee legend some would say.

He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, fishing & just putzing in the woods at his house. He also traveled to Rincon de Guayabitos, Mexico every winter for a few months where he had made many new friends that looked forward to his visit every year.

Most of all he loved his grandchildren more than anything. Papa Max took them on so many outdoor adventures and created wonderful memories that will not be forgotten. They also learned many crazy stories from him. He was very proud of the family Kelly & Josh had built.

Tom is survived by his loving daughter Kelly (Josh) Gliniecki, grandsons Ethan (16) Cullen (15) & Owen ( 13) of Lake Mills. He is also survived by his sister Patricia (Ken) Disher, niece’s Susan (Slate) Fuller, Sadie (Aj) Rudnitzki, Carrie (Kellen) Malloy, nephews Dan (Cheri) Disher, Ken (Janelle) Disher, Michael (Beth) Maxwell, Tim (Beth) Maxwell, David Maxwell, Jimbo (Sara) Conti & so many great nieces & nephews.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Robert & James, sister Janet, nephews Patrick & Bobby & niece Kathy.

In honor of Tom’s life, A Celebration of Life will take place Friday December 20th, 2024 at Pagenkohp Funeral Home (2228 North Silver Maple Lane Oconomowoc, Wisconsin 53066). The visitation will be from 1-3 pm followed by a short service. Military Honors will be accorded after the service.
