Thomas M. Mayer, age 71, passed peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at AngelsGrace Hospice. He was born on April 28, 1950 to William and Adelaide (Gerkhardt) Mayer in Milwaukee. Tom is survived by his wife, Pam; his children, Jason (Jessie) Mayer, Andrew (Maggie) Mayer, Jason (Bridget) Sicchio, and Chad Erspamer; grandchildren, Myles Mayer, Reid Mayer, Mackenzie Mayer, Jacob Mayer, Raylee Mayer, Sophie Sicchio and Leo Sicchio; siblings, William (Sue) Mayer, Robert (Carol) Mayer, Brian (Karen) Mayer, Patricia (Dave) Aulenbacher, Mark (Jackie) Mayer, Eric (Lisa) Mayer and Rosemary Mayer; mother of his sons, Cheryl (Dave) Hansen; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Tom graduated from Hartford Union High School and graduated from UW – Milwaukee with a degree in Zoology. He was a four-year letter winner in wrestling at UW-M. Tom continued his love for wrestling by refereeing for 20 plus years, while also coaching and supporting his sons and grandkids in various sports. He was an avid runner, completing the Lakefront Marathon and numerous half marathons. Tom worked hard in every aspect of his life, and ultimately retired from a career in pharmaceutical sales. Tom was united in marriage to Pamela Fafford on July 1, 2005 at Saxon Harbor on Lake Superior. Tom and Pam enjoyed golden retrievers, traveling, hiking, kayaking, their backyard and being up north in Saxon. They enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren and extended family. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be planned at a later date. Memorials may be made to AngelsGrace Hospice.
