Thomas W. Joers

Thomas 'Tom' W. Joers, age 78, of Oconomowoc, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Tom is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Marti Joers. His parents Erich and Rosita Joers, his mother-in-law Edith Yaudes; his niece Lisa Caughey and a great nephew Matthew Donahue. He is survived by his brother John (Carol) Joers, his sister Jane (Doug) Owsiany, his brother-in-law Ron (Roger) Yaudes; 24 nieces/nephews; 37 great nieces/nephews and 5 great great nieces/nephews. Tom's special cousins Terri (Mary) Lipchow and Larry Lipchow; special friend George (Judy) Cunningham and many more family and friends. Tom was in the 440th Airlift Wing. He taught school for 13 years. He worked and managed Group Homes in Waukesha. He had a special craft night for the residents that he planned all the crafts for. affecting many lives throughout his life. He was a Trustee and Usher at Good Shepherd Methodist Church, in Oconomowoc. Services for Tom will be held at Good Shepherd Methodist Church (800 Lake Dr, Oconomowoc) on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11 am. A visitation will be held from 9 am until time of service at 11. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
