Virginia F. (Fahey) Nielsen

OCONOMOWOC - Virginia F. (Fahey) Nielsen, age 90, of Oconomowoc, Wis., passed away on March 6, 2025 at AngelsGrace Hospice. She was born September 1, 1934, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Joseph and Lucile (Whalen) Fahey.

Virginia graduated from Edgewood High School and Edgewood College. She taught school for several years at Omro High School, Madison Area Technical College and Marshall High School. 

Virginia was united in marriage to George Nielsen on June 24, 1972. She was a very kind, caring person who was beloved by her friends and family.

 Virginia is survived by her husband, George, sister Margaret Zimmerman, sister-in-law Mary Ann Nielsen, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, her brothers, Donald, Robert and Louis Fahey and her sister, Mary Catherine Maul. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JEROME’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 995 S Silver Lake Street, Oconomowoc, on Friday, March 14, 2025. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00am-11:30am until the time of the Mass. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oregon, Wis., on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edgewood High School, Edgewood College, St. Jerome’s Church or the charity of their own choice.
