Virginia "Ginger" Johnson

Virginia “Ginger” Johnson, age 84, found peace on September 17, 2020 at AngelsGrace surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 12, 1936 in Oconomowoc, WI to Clarence and Adeline Johnson. She attended Okauchee Elementary School and graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1954. Virginia enjoyed traveling and knitting baby hats for Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and prayer shawls for AngelsGrace Hospice. Virginia retired from State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections, having worked at Ethan Allen School for 41 years. Virginia is survived by her sister, Beverly Ryan; niece and goddaughter Kelly Podrug; and nephew Patric Schleif. Further survived by great-nieces Kristin (Jamie) Serio and Kari Podrug; great-nephews Jesse Spielvogel and Jeffery Podrug; great-great nephews Isaiah, Lyric, Kaleb and great-great niece Bentley. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; sister Betty Schleif; brother-in-laws Roger Schleif and Paul Ryan; nephews Steven Ryan and Scott Schleif; and her two dogs Huncie and Sadie. A visitation will take place on September 23, 2020 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (1165 E. Summit Avenue, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 2:00pm-4:00pm with the service to follow. Pastor Wes Werner is presiding. A private family burial will take place at Summit Cemetery.
