William “Bill” or “Willy” Sporer, 74, of Ocononomowoc, WI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Born in Millwaukee, WI, he was never far away from a lake – living near, boating, waterskiing, swimming, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Bill loved (and hated, depending on the day) golf, bowling, fishing, sports, and Riley. He unconditionally loved steak, his family and friends, and the Republicans. He unconditionally hated the moles in his backyard and the Democrats. A jack of all trades, he excelled at overseeing anything from the putting in of piers to the chopping of wood. Bill was especially loved and respected for his never-fail, always there, helpful, problem-solving skills for any friend in need. Bill is survived by his daughter, Dina Sporer, his siblings, James (Nancy) Sporer, Mary (John) Koss and Judith (the late Philippe) Ortiz, nieces, nephews, family and friends to numerous to list but not forgotten. He is reunited with his wife, Diane, who is keeping him in line and humoring him again, and his brother, Michael Sporer. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Joan of Ark Catholic Church (120 Nashotah Road | Nashotah, WI). A visitation for family and friends will start at 9:00 AM. A private burial will be held at Valhalla Cemetery at a later date. Special thanks to the caring staff at Oconomowoc Memorial hospital and to Dr. John Kelly. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Macular Degeneration Society https://www.macular.org/how-donate
