William O'Shaughnessy

O’Shaughnessy, William H. William H. O’Shaughnessy, 97, died peacefully on January 26, 2018, surrounded by family at Heritage Lake Country in Hartland, Wis. At his side was his beloved wife, Ardys, to whom he was married for 73 wonderful years. William was stationed in Juneau, Alaska with the U.S. Army during WWII where he met and married the former Ardys Pearl Stiles. After the war, he received his bachelor’s in business from the University of Minnesota, where he was recruited by S.C. Johnson & Son to Racine, Wis. William enjoyed a long career at Johnson’s where he retired as Credit Manager. William’s professional accomplishments were many but most important to him were his family and friends. Survivors include daughters: Maureen (Robert) Schroeder of Atlanta, Ga. and Jean (Spencer) Hicks of Oconomowoc, Wis.; daughter-in-law: Judy O’Shaughnessy of Oshkosh, Wis.; grandchildren: Ryan (Jozlyn) Schroeder of McLean, Va.; Elizabeth Wilson of Overland Park, Kan.; Justin (Andrea) Hicks of Madison, Wis.; Erica (Phillip) Dziatkiewicz of Oconomowoc, Wis; Shane Hicks of Denver, Co.; and Jenna Hicks of Oconomowoc, Wis.; eight great-grandchildren: Isabel and Charlotte Schroeder, Gillian and June Wilson, William and Amelia Hicks, and Eamon and Conor Dziatkiewicz; and many nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his two sons: Sheldon E. O’Shaughnessy and William B. O’Shaughnessy. Visitation from 12:30 pm-2 pm and a funeral mass at 2 pm will be held on Sat. Feb. 10, 2018 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 120 Nashotah Rd., Nashotah, WI 53058. Internment will be at a date TBD in Fountain, Minn., the town of William’s birth.
